All reservations must be cancelled 2 days prior to arrival to avoid one night cancellation and/or no show fee.
All prices shown online are per room per night (unless otherwise stated). Prices are subject to Value Added Tax at the current prevailing rate and local tourism levies, if applicable.
Prices are subject to change without notice. Rates are only guaranteed once you receive a booking confirmation. For the avoidance of doubt, prices do not include any additional charges, which you may incur during your stay. (For example, bar and laundry.)
In the case of private bookings such charges will be payable by the guest on departure. Failure to pay any additional charges, which is a condition of your contract with us, you irrevocably authorise us to debit your credit or debit card (see 'Deposits and Pre-payments' below) for the amount of any shortfall. Exceptions related to corporate bookings need to be authorised by the guest’s company and communicated to Michelle Guest Lodge management.
Availability of rooms at the rates shown online may be limited and/or restricted to certain periods.
Michelle Guest Lodge regrets that no children can be accommodated.
4. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Michelle Guest Lodge's rooms are available from 2pm on the day of arrival. In the case of late arrivals it will be appreciated if we can be notified.
Rooms must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure, unless otherwise authorised at the discretion of Michelle Corporate Guest Lodge's manager. If in the case of a room not being vacated timeously an additional fee may be charged.
5. DEPOSITS AND PRE-PAYMENTS
Michelle Guest Lodge requires a deposit of the first night's accommodation on a room and breakfast basis. See 'Cancellations and Amendments' below for details on cancellations. On arrival you will be asked to produce a valid debit or credit card for Michelle Corporate Guest Lodge to take authorisation. No American express cards or cheques will be accepted. EFT payments are allowed. Please ensure that the proof of payment is forwarded to us prior to booking in or function.
Corporate clients with approved account arrangements may not be subjected to the above.
6. SETTLEMENT OF ACCOUNTS
Private accounts: Settlement of the balance of account on arrival. Additional costs incurred during the stay (laundry and bar) will be settled in full on departure.
Corporate accounts: All corporate accounts are payable within 30 days of invoice
date. Costs incurred not authorised by the company (laundry and bar) will be payable on departure by the corporate guest.
7. CANCELLATIONS AND AMENDMENTS
All cancellations must be made in accordance with our cancellation terms. Deposits are non-refundable unless your reservation is cancelled at least 48hrs prior to your intended arrival date.
Cancellations must reach Michelle Guest Lodge by 14h00 (2pm), local time the day prior to arrival.
- Less than 14 days forfeit the full deposit
- From 14 to 21 days forfeit 50% of the deposit
- From 21 to 28 days forfeit 25% of the deposit
- NO SHOWS will be charged the full accommodation for one evening.
Whilst every effort is made to fulfill any particular requests which you may have in relation to your stay with us, we cannot unfortunately guarantee that we will be able to meet any particular requests which you may make and our failure in this regard will not constitute a breach of contract.
In the unlikely event that we have to change or cancel your reservation, we reserve the right to do so. However, you have the right to:
- accept the changed arrangements as notified; or
- make alternative arrangements with us; or
cancel your reservation and receive a full refund of any monies which you have paid to us in respect of your reservation (please note that we shall not be liable for any sums which you have paid to any other persons in connection with your reservation).
For the avoidance of doubt, we shall have no further liability to you for any changes to or the cancellation of any booking.
8. NO SMOKING POLICY
In accordance to the municipal by laws smoking is only allowed in designated areas. NO SMOKING is allowed in the non-smoking rooms. We do however have two (2) smoking rooms on request, if available.
The guest herewith implicitly agrees to the additional service charge of R350 to be added to the account in the event of non-compliance, to defray unnecessary dry cleaning costs.
9. COMPLAINTS OR COMMENTS
We take our guest satisfaction very seriously. Any complaint or comment regarding a stay at Michelle Guest Lodge should be made in the first instance to Michelle Guest Lodge's duty manager at the time of your stay so that we can attempt to resolve it immediately.
Michelle Guest Lodge is liable for VAT on monies deposited into our account. NO REFUNDS OF VAT WILL BE MADE. THE FEES FOR FIRST DAY OF A CANCELLED BOOKING WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.
11. NO SHOWS
ACCOMMODATION PROPERLY BOOKED AND ALLOCATED WILL BE DEEMED FOR THE ACCOUNT OF THE GUEST, WHETHER OCCUPIED OR NOT UNLESS CANCELLED ONE DAY IN ADVANCE.
12. GENERAL INFORMATION
Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained herein, we cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions, and reserve the right to vary, amend, supplement or cancel any of the information or offers featured at any time.
Subject to the paragraph immediately below, we shall not be liable to you for any loss or damage in circumstances where:
- there is no breach of a legal duty owed to you by us or by our employees or agents;
- such loss or damage is not a reasonably foreseeable result of any such breach;
- any increase in loss or damage resulting from breach by you of any term of our contract;
- any loss is in excess of three times the fee payable in respect of your stay.
Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or fraudulent misrepresentation.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by South African law and the South African courts shall have jurisdiction over any matter arising out of or in connection with them.`
